Let's bring honesty and integrity back to Sumter County
I grew up in Lake County and moved to Sumter County after my wife, Melissa and I were married. Melissa has lived in Sumter County her entire life. We raised our five children here, and three of them have returned after college to work in one of our family businesses here in Sumter County. Our granddaughter is now being raised in Sumter County.
It has been wonderful for our family to live the American Dream as the owners and operators of both Tri County Landscapes and Desantis Air Conditioning and Appliances. Our mission is to serve our customers with quality products at affordable prices. In that same vein, I believe we need government at all levels to have that same attitude.
Unfortunately, as we watch the mismanagement of the federal government, it is easy to become discouraged. The border crisis, inflation, and the woke agenda of the radical left are deeply concerning. The good news is that in Florida, we are fighting back, and we have a lot to be thankful for with a governor and a legislature that are keeping us the Free State of Florida.
With that success, however, has come a surge in growth as many people all over the country are re-locating to Florida, putting even more pressure on counties like ours with high growth rates. I believe that we need a businessman as our next county commissioner who will make good decisions about how to best manage that growth but also has a deep interest in maintaining the quality of life and family-friendly culture that we love about Sumter County.
I am committed to fighting rising insurance costs, taxes, and eliminating wasteful spending. I also believe that we can never sacrifice our commitment to public safety so that our seniors and children never have to fear the crises that are affecting other communities across the country.
I am not a politician. I am a father, husband, small business owner, and a patriot. We have given back through our activism and community involvement in the Sumter County Fair, Sumter County Chamber of Commerce, Hospice of Sumter County, and with scholarships provided to our high schools and middle schools.
I am committed to this county, and I am committed to you.

THE ISSUES FACING SUMTER COUNTY
Lower Taxes/Balanced Budget
Joe Biden’s inflation is hurting seniors on fixed incomes and working families in a major way. Higher prices for groceries, gas, and basic services are out of control. I’ll always work to balance our county budget without new taxes and fees or higher millage rates.
Affordable Property Insurance
Homeowners and small business owners understand that property insurance costs are skyrocketing. In some instances, it is difficult to get property insurance at all. I’ll work hard to coordinate with the state’s Office of Insurance Regulation to bring more insurers back into the market and find market-based incentives to lower the cost of insurance and improve availability.
Safe Roads
Traffic is out of control. We all have seen our communities change dramatically in the last 5 years as growth has overwhelmed our roadways. Repeatedly, we have seen violence on the roadways and distracted driving. We need to increase community patrols and introduce traffic calming strategies to protect the many seniors that frequent our roadways.
Safe Neighborhoods
With the federal government’s absolute dereliction of duty in securing our border, we have seen in other places of Florida an increase in human trafficking and financial fraud schemes organized by illegal immigrants. I’ll prioritize funding for our Sheriff and other public safety personnel and always put your safety first.
Smart Growth
Florida has been growing since our great state joined the union. We can’t completely stop that. But we can grow smart by not approving chaotic development schemes that are radically out of compliance with our growth management plans or provide special exemptions that put pressure on our existing infrastructure.
Housing Availability
Many of our working families have been priced out of their homes, and consequently, the prices for even basic repairs in homes is becoming unaffordable. We need to defend funding for home ownership programs for our nurses, firefighters, police, teachers, and other skilled labor so that we have access to the services we need.
World-Class Schools
Our children deserve the very best opportunities for an education that is tailored to their needs that also is clear of the woke indoctrination pushed by the radical left. I’ll oppose pornographic materials in our libraries, drag queen story hour, and any other left-wing tactics not in keeping with a world-class, traditional education.
